In the 6th minute, Leyland got a penalty, and Alan Bradfield placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. Alfie Clarke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Kasey Reading 's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomas Skinner was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 15th minute, Alfie Clarke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Andrew Ryder fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skye Islands's protests and gave Andrew Ryder a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Knight in the 23rd minute of play forced Leyland's goalkeeper Zak Davison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Taylor hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Skye Islands's John Noble tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfie Clarke got free with Thomas Skinner in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When George Knight came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Skye Islands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Knight couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Kasey Reading got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kasey Reading received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Thomas Skinner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Kasey Reading managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leyland's supporters rose to their feet, but Kasey Reading was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Skinner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

52 minutes into the match, Alfie Clarke notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Skye Islands's Thomas Skinner. Thomas Skinner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Abraham Ambrose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Daly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Skinner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kasey Reading in the 70th minute of play. George Knight might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zak Davison . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Knight ran back to his position shaking his head. If Kasey Reading had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Leyland booed when Skye Islands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Daly didn't get a good kick on the ball.
