Seating: 1864, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Horwich's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Adcock came free, but Alex Gettins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piers Worrall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry Alderdice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Gettins came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Broken City's Piers Worrall. But to his dismay, Piers Worrall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 13th minute, Karl Adcock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Danny Commons fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horwich's protests and gave Danny Commons a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Broken City booed when Horwich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Commons didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Long showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frances Marshall in the 20th minute of the match. Harry Alderdice's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Gettins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Horwich's Alex Gettins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piers Worrall in the 24th minute of play. Jacob Simpson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Jacob Simpson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Horwich's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Broken City the free kick. After 29 played minutes Horwich got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Simpson . Piers Worrall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Horwich's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Golding came free, but Alex Gettins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Gettins came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Broken City's Piers Worrall. But to his dismay, Piers Worrall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Albert Long made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frances Marshall in the 43rd minute of play. Jacob Simpson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Albert Long made a huge save.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frances Marshall stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Piers Worrall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Piers Worrall took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Alex Gettins to make any attempt to save it. Piers Worrall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Alex Gettins made a huge save. In the 71st minute Frances Marshall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Long saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Long took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Simpson , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piers Worrall who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Alex Gettins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Albert Long showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frances Marshall , who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Albert Long took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Simpson , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piers Worralls short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Alex Gettins to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Harry Alderdice struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Alex Gettins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Broken City. After 85 played minutes, Broken City's Jack Rowett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alex Gettins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Broken City reached it. Alex Gettins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piers Worrall in the 88th minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Broken City! In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Horwich. Billie Perryman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Albert Long. 1-4. Broken City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
