Broken City's Jack Rowett quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 13 played minutes Broken City got a freekick which was hit by Seth Duckworth. Harry Alderdice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Purfleet's zone, Piers Worrall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Hughes came out of the goal and Piers Worrall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piers Worrall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Hughes having to interfere. Piers Worralls short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Marty Hughes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Harry Alderdice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Purfleet's Marty Hughes got control of the ball when Piers Worrall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Piers Worrall spun around in front of the goal 31 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Purfleet's goal. Piers Worrall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Marty Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl Adcock might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marty Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl Adcock ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute Piers Worrall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marty Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Adcock received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marty Hughes came out and tried to block the shot, but Karl Adcock slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 42nd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piers Worrall stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Purfleet booed when Broken City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roy Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piers Worrall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Hughes having to interfere. Marty Hughes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Piers Worrall went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Piers Worrall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Alderdice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Piers Worrall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. John Bedford 's late challenge caught a Broken City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Bedford helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, John Bedford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Broken City booed when Purfleet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Bedford didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Broken City fully deserved thier win.
