But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Alderdice couldn't finish the play. Piers Worrall who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Vernon Bassett when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Piers Worrall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd match minute, Sky High Vs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sam Burton to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Karl Adcock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Broken City's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl Adcock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vernon Bassett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Vernon Bassett managed to avoid a goal in the 32ndth minute, when Broken City's Piers Worrall fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 34 minutes into the match, Sky High Vs's goal looked a bit too open when Piers Worrall came free, but Vernon Bassett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piers Worrall's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Vernon Bassett skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Broken City's Seth Duckworth slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vernon Bassett. That made the score 2-0 after 36 minutes of play. With a little luck, Sky High Vs's Vernon Bassett got control of the ball when Piers Worrall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lennie Longden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Albert Long showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Lewington, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Piers Worrall made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Piers Worrall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Broken City's supporters rose to their feet, but Piers Worrall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vernon Bassett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Piers Worrall in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vernon Bassett saved Sky High Vs from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Broken City's zone, Sam Burton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Long came out of the goal and Sam Burton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piers Worrall might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vernon Bassett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Piers Worrall ran back to his position shaking his head. Harry Alderdice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vernon Bassett having to interfere. Piers Worrall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vernon Bassett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Broken City's Harry Alderdice got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piers Worrall might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vernon Bassett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Piers Worrall ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute, CJ Burns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Piers Worrall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vernon Bassett was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 85 minutes of play, Broken City's Piers Worrall made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vernon Bassett was left in no man's land by his defense there! Piers Worrall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Vernon Bassett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Harry Alderdice hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
