Spectators: 6853 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 0) Andrew Kindness started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Matlock FC's Lewis Bennet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Matlock FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Matlock FC's zone, Andrew Kindness stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lewis Bennet came out of the goal and Andrew Kindness tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Sammy Briggs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13thth minute of the game Alfred Chamberlain who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Epsom's Rod Beadle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rod Beadle didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfred Chamberlain went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lewis Bennet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Kindness in the 18th minute of the match. Andrew Kindness fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lewis Bennet having to interfere. If Alfred Chamberlain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Epsom's goal looked a bit too open when Bob Lawson came free, but Rod Beadle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lewis Bennet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franz Paine went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Perry Green fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Epsom's protests and gave Perry Green a yellow card for diving instead. Perry Green hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes, Matlock FC's Andy Graydon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rod Beadle came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Matlock FC reached it. Donald Wilkes kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Alfred Chamberlain came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Matlock FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Chamberlain couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Epsom's zone, Bob Lawson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Beadle came out of the goal and Bob Lawson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfred Chamberlain to strike the kick off in the second half. Rod Beadle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Chamberlain , who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Alfred Chamberlain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Rod Beadle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Epsom was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sammy Briggs to maneuver through the defense. If Alfred Chamberlain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rod Beadle made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Alfred Chamberlain sent off a good shot on target. 74 minutes into the match, Andrew Kindness notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Matlock FC's Lewis Bennet . Lewis Bennet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lewis Bennet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franz Paine in the 78th minute of play. Andrew Kindness sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lewis Bennet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franz Paine , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Dom Brontë hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Franz Paine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lewis Bennet having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Andrew Kindness got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute, Matlock FC's Jacob Hargreaves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. When Epsom's Franz Paine in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Matlock FC's goalie prevented a goal.
