When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lukasz Grunwalski sped through Turnpike Lane FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Dobbs . After 8 minutes, Andrew Mallaby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turnpike Lane FC and the Super Mario players grew even worse after the yellow card. Glyn Collingwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stuart Birchall , who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Turnpike Lane FC's zone, Ferdinando Trabucco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Dobbs came out of the goal and Ferdinando Trabucco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 minutes of play, Super Mario's Ferdinando Trabucco made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexander Dobbs was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Super Mario booed when Turnpike Lane FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Owen Leach didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ferdinando Trabucco in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Dobbs saved Turnpike Lane FC from getting behind. If Lukasz Grunwalski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Super Mario got a freekick which was hit by Phil Blackwell. 29 minutes into the match, Jimmy Addison sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Glyn Collingwood threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Jimmy Addison this time. If Ferdinando Trabucco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 33 minutes into the match, Turnpike Lane FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lukasz Grunwalski came free, but Alexander Dobbs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Jerry Cotton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Dobbs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lukasz Grunwalski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Dobbs having to make a save. Marc Downs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Dobbs having to make a save.

The wind increased when Lukasz Grunwalski made the kick off in the second half. Super Mario's Lukasz Grunwalski got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Super Mario's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinando Trabucco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinando Trabucco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Alexander Dobbs made a huge save. Glyn Collingwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stew Wishart in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Super Mario's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jack Frazer was slow to take the kick. During this time Turnpike Lane FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Turnpike Lane FC's corner Jack Frazer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Glyn Collingwood quite easily take care of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Ferdinando Trabucco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexander Dobbs . Turnpike Lane FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdinando Trabucco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 94th minute, Jude Blake made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Dobbs . Turnpike Lane FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Alexander Dobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukasz Grunwalski in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Super Mario could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Turnpike Lane FC throughout the match.
