An unexpectedly hard shot by Willie Botham in the 6th minute of play forced Wimbledon FC's goalkeeper Stephen George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Lincoln kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Willie Botham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, John Cunnah ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephen George was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. John Cunnah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Stephen George made a huge save. If Willie Botham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bryan Powell charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bryan Powell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Wimbledon FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Bryan Powell hit a great ball. Willie Botham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Stephen George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Cunnah recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Wimbledon FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Chris Fry hit a great ball. Wimbledon FC's Stephen George proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Wimbledon FC from getting a goal against them. Willie Botham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen George having to interfere. Willie Botham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Stephen George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neasden United's John Cunnah was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 43rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 47th minute, Seth Stone ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thom Key was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrew Eastwood during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wayne Beaumont struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Thom Key didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wimbledon FC. The audience was convinced that John Cunnah's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stephen George was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Stephen George made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Cunnah in the 64th minute of play. Thom Key showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stuart Forrest in the 68th minute of the match. Darren Gamble charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Seth Stone scored 2-3 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thom Key , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ozzy Sansom 's late challenge caught a Wimbledon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ozzy Sansom helped the player get up and apologised. Ozzy Sansom kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Seth Stone struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Thom Key didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wimbledon FC. Thom Key didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Seth Stone went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. In the 95thth minute of the game Willie Botham who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wimbledon FC's Stephen George was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stephen George made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Cunnah in the 98th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Wimbledon FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
