Stephen George came out of the goal and Dario Saturno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Wimbledon FC booed when Deportivo De La Mata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derek Morgan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Deportivo De La Mata's Emiliano Torrente in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wimbledon FC's goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Deportivo De La Mata's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Forrest came free, but Oscar Moore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Codruț Meleșcanu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Deportivo De La Mata's Emiliano Torrente was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Deportivo De La Mata's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Forrest came free, but Oscar Moore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wimbledon FC's Stephen George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Torrente in the 27th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dario Saturno in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stephen George saved Wimbledon FC from getting behind. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wimbledon FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 40 minutes, Deportivo De La Mata's Tod Le Saux got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Stephen George. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stuart Forrest to make the kick off. Stephen George stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emiliano Torrente's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Dario Saturno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stephen George. Wimbledon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Saturno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Emiliano Torrente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stephen George having to make a save. Stephen George stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emiliano Torrente's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Emiliano Torrente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Stephen George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Codruț Meleșcanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stephen George having to make a save. Wimbledon FC's Stephen George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Meleșcanu in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute of the match Deportivo De La Mata got a corner. Wimbledon FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tod Le Saux ran over to the corner to take the kick. Krzysztof Kolano made a great header on Deportivo De La Mata's corner, it was just that Wimbledon FC's Stephen George managed to reach the ball for a save. Dario Saturno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Stephen George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Deportivo De La Mata booed when Wimbledon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan White didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Saturno in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stephen George prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 8-0 became the score in the 85th minute when Emiliano Torrente elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Emiliano Torrente cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Stephen George was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 94 played minutes Wimbledon FC got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Lincoln. Dario Saturno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Stephen George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Deportivo De La Mata had played much better football throughout.
