Spectators: 6842 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Andrew Whitehead got the match started through his kick off. Joe Brontë took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jane Reddington , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Walmley getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Stiff Langley hit a great ball. Joe Brontë stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jane Reddington 's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Leroy Barfield 's late challenge caught a Nailsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leroy Barfield helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, Walmley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leroy Barfield to maneuver through the defense. Leroy Barfield was shown his second yellow card after 12 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Walmley's Leroy Barfield got a free kick in the 13th minute. Nailsea's Owen Pallister couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Walmley. Jane Reddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Todd Waller managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Walmley's Mark Nolan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Walmley's Joe Brontë played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Power in the 25th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Mark Nolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jane Reddington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Brontë having to interfere. Jane Reddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Neil Power came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Nailsea fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Neil Power couldn't finish the play. Jane Reddington struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Joe Brontë didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nailsea. Archie Briant kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Jane Reddington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute Neil Power shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Brontë saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Jane Reddington made the kick off in the second half. Walmley's Joe Brontë proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Walmley from getting a goal against them. Nailsea's Neil Power got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neil Power blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joe Brontë having to make a save. In the 61st minute, Jane Reddington fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Joe Brontë, passed just outside the right post. If Neil Power had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nailsea's Todd Waller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Nolan in the 71st minute of play. Jane Reddington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Joe Brontë tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neil Power fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joe Brontë having to interfere. Jane Reddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Henry Britton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nailsea's goalkeeper Todd Waller , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 95 minutes of play, Walmley's Mark Nolan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Todd Waller was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nailsea were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Walmley to leave the ground with a draw.
