The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tod Renner during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 5 minutes into the game, Tommy Topham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuneaton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Woodmancote United the free kick. After 6 played minutes Nuneaton got a freekick which was hit by Tommy Topham . Jason Golding 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ken Bradfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Caleb Potter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jim Donaghy. The goal made the score 1-0. Philip Rawson kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Woodmancote United's Caleb Potter got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Woodmancote United's Ken Bradfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Topham in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Woodmancote United's Callum Hall got a free kick in the 28th minute. Ken Bradfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Topham in the 29th minute of the match. If Tommy Topham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th match minute, Woodmancote United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Wright to maneuver through the defense. Ken Bradfield stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tommy Topham 's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommy Topham made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Tommy Topham fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Nuneaton's Jason Golding got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martin Wright charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Wright the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Martin Wright kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Jason Golding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ken Bradfield having to interfere. Tommy Topham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jim Donaghy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caleb Potter , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Philip Rawson charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Rawson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Nuneaton getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Philip Rawson hit a great ball. Woodmancote United's Tod Stead got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Woodmancote United's goalkeeper Ken Bradfield , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Woodmancote United's goalkeeper Ken Bradfield had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jason Golding . With his leg Ken Bradfield managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Nuneaton's Jason Golding fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ken Bradfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Topham , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Topham in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ken Bradfield prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tommy Topham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Topham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jason Golding could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ken Bradfield made a huge save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
