Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tommy Topham got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Topham got free with Paddy Daly in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Nuneaton's Tommy Topham in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ossett City's goalie prevented a goal. Jason Golding 's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Paddy Daly skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Tommy Topham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Nuneaton booed when Ossett City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geoff York didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Kennedy charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jack Kennedy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ossett City booed when Nuneaton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Kennedy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ossett City's Nicholas Elwick got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, Ossett City's Geoff York got a free kick in the 24th minute. Keith Nicholl was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Topham in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paddy Daly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tommy Topham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Paddy Daly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
If Tommy Topham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason Golding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Paddy Daly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Nuneaton's goal looked a bit too open when Will Beecham came free, but Jim Donaghy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Nuneaton's Jim Donaghy got control of the ball when Vernon Crawshaw tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vernon Crawshaw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Jim Donaghy made a huge save. Tommy Topham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paddy Daly having to make a save. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nuneaton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Ossett City's Willie Lincoln got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jim Donaghy. 93 minutes in the game, Will Beecham fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jim Donaghy having to interfere. Jack Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Nuneaton's goalkeeper Jim Donaghy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vernon Crawshaw. Paddy Daly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Golding , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
