With his leg Thomas Harrison managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Huddersfield's Ronny Broadhurst fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ronny Broadhurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Thomas Harrison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huddersfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronny Broadhurst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Harrison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After 52 minutes, Ricky Bradbury mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huddersfield and the Bridgwater City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bridgwater City booed when Huddersfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricky Bradbury didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Shane Peake managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ricky Bradbury got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Bridgwater City booed when Huddersfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricky Bradbury didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Shane Peake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maik Nethercot in the 91st minute of play forced Huddersfield's goalkeeper John-Paul Rouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes Huddersfield got a freekick which was hit by Stiff Johnson. When Huddersfield's Ronny Broadhurst in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bridgwater City's goalie prevented a goal. The Huddersfield supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bridgwater City's performance. The match ended with a win for Bridgwater City.
