The supporters of Finnish Liberation Army booed when Empire Club Recea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Frost didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 played minutes, Finnish Liberation Army's Doug Wildman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Martin Middlewood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Finnish Liberation Army reached it. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gareth Fuller couldn't finish the play. David Frost hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Louie Blueman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Finnish Liberation Army's Gordon Alsford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Cooper in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Empire Club Recea's zone, Louie Blueman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Middlewood came out of the goal and Louie Blueman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Empire Club Recea supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Empire Club Recea would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
