John Bromley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Alsford having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Finnish Liberation Army's Laurence Grigg got a free kick in the 25th minute. Gareth Fuller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Louie Blueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierce Moore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Alsford having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match Doug Wildman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Darius Simmons skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Purfleet booed when Finnish Liberation Army was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louie Blueman didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Louie Blueman made a kick off. Darius Simmons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louie Blueman, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremy Goldthorpe during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Finnish Liberation Army booed when Purfleet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremy Goldthorpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rex Langdon kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Gordon Alsford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierce Moore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If John Bromley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gordon Alsford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierce Moore in the 67th minute of the match. In the 74th minute Pierce Moore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Alsford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Purfleet's Kris Way was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gordon Alsford in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 78 minutes into the match, Finnish Liberation Army's goal looked a bit too open when Pierce Moore came free, but Gordon Alsford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keith Blanchflower during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Darius Simmons came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Finnish Liberation Army's Gareth Fuller. But to his dismay, Gareth Fuller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gareth Fuller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Darius Simmons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louie Blueman in the 88th minute of the match. Kris Way struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Gordon Alsford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purfleet. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Finnish Liberation Army had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
