Leicester's Andy Robins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik McLiam Wilson in the 10th minute of play. Colin Ball scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andy Robins , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thomas Watts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Newton , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dominik McLiam Wilson struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Andy Robins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Codicote City. Thomas Watts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vince Newton 's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Leicester's goal looked a bit too open when Colin Ball came free, but Andy Robins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Codicote City's Graeme Rundell got a free kick in the 31st minute. George Downes , 32 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Vince Newton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leicester's supporters rose to their feet, but Vince Newton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Watts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dominik McLiam Wilson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Andy Robins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Dominik McLiam Wilson made a precise shot to the right of Andy Robins . Leicester's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Colin Green took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thomas Watts . Thomas Watts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 46 played minutes Codicote City got a freekick which was hit by Dominik McLiam Wilson. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Colin Ball to make the kick off. Reg Lynam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Watts having to interfere. Reg Lynam might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomas Watts . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reg Lynam ran back to his position shaking his head. Thomas Watts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vince Newton 's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute of the match, Colin Ball tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andy Robins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aaron Butcher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andy Robins . Leicester's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thomas Watts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Newton , who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If Reg Lynam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. With a little luck, Leicester's Andy Robins got control of the ball when Dominik McLiam Wilson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Leicester supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Codicote City's performance. The match ended with a win for Codicote City.
