Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gus Short was the one to do the kick off. When Sam Brindley was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Patrick Button managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uxbridge City's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Button was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Harper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reg Simms fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edward Harper having to interfere. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uxbridge City's goalkeeper Vance Charles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Crispin Hoskins in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Gillingham's Edward Harper got control of the ball when Patrick Button tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Rush charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed John Rush the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gillingham's John Rush got a free kick in the 86th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Uxbridge City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
