Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fitz Alderson started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the Eton defense, Rueben Pitts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Brookman. The Eton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Brookman should have stopped the shot. In the 9th minute Stephen Hassell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Brookman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vince Topham hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Eton's Jerry Booker got a free kick in the 14th minute. Gary Haines stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fitz Alderson's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, John Galway got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute Kurt Best shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Brookman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt Best in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kevin Brookman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes, Rueben Pitts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blackpool and the Eton players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Blackpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rueben Pitts to maneuver through the defense. Kurt Best fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Brookman having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fitz Alderson in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gary Haines prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fitz Alderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin Brookman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rueben Pitts , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Galway to strike the kick off in the second half. Adam Biernat struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Gary Haines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eton. Fitz Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gary Haines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Eton's Kevin Brookman got control of the ball when Kurt Best tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Galway received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevin Brookman came out and tried to block the shot, but John Galway slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 60th minute. Kevin Brookman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rueben Pitts in the 66th minute. Kevin Brookman made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Rueben Pitts sent off a good shot on target. After 74 played minutes Eton got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Scappaticci. Gary Haines stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fitz Alderson's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Gary Haines made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Biernat in the 81st minute of play. Fitz Alderson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Haines having to interfere.
