The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Eton booed when Hendon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Buster Bird didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Hendon AFC's Buster Bird got a free kick in the 7th minute. Fitz Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Hayden Hatcher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vince Topham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayden Hatcher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fitz Alderson went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 19 played minutes Hendon AFC got a freekick which was hit by Buster Bird. 21 minutes into the game, Eton's Fitz Alderson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hayden Hatcher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With his leg Kevin Brookman managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Hendon AFC's Rupert Morris fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 34th minute, Fitz Alderson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adam Biernat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayden Hatcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Topham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Eton's goal looked a bit too open when Albert McGovern came free, but Kevin Brookman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fitz Alderson succeeded in the game's 44th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. The Hendon AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Eton were winning 0-4.

The wind increased when Gary Goldthorpe made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Eton's goalkeeper Kevin Brookman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Fitz Alderson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 54 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hayden Hatcher was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Fitz Alderson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hayden Hatcher having to make a save. Connor Best hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Fitz Alderson struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Hayden Hatcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eton. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert McGovern in the 69th minute of play forced Eton's goalkeeper Kevin Brookman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Eton defense, Gary Goldthorpe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kevin Brookman. The Eton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kevin Brookman should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eton's goalkeeper Kevin Brookman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Rupert Morris fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hendon AFC's protests and gave Rupert Morris a yellow card for diving instead. Rupert Morris kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Hayden Hatcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fitz Alderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eton's Kevin Brookman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buster Bird in the 83rd minute of play. Hayden Hatcher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fitz Alderson's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Kevin Brookman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert McGovern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 played minutes Eton got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Booker. Gary Goldthorpe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Hendon AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Eton were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
