After having played for 6 minutes, Denny Moss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Randalstown Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denny Moss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michael Gill came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Hendon AFC's Rupert Morris. But to his dismay, Rupert Morris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Hayden Hatcher was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Denny Moss capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Denny Moss really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Billy Button's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Hayden Hatcher skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gary Goldthorpe in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michael Gill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, Randalstown Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Gary Goldthorpe came free, but Michael Gill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gary Goldthorpe made the kick off in the second half. Rupert Morris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Lennie Beaumont hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Randalstown Utd were the better team. Randalstown Utd's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
