Spectators: 6857 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1857, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bill Saunders took the kick off in the first half of the match. Willie Malley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orson Avery in the 4th minute of play. Michael Holbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Saunders , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bill Saunders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Holbrook having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Reddish was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Gower to maneuver through the defense. Willie Malley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spike Holloway in the 28th minute of play. If Bill Saunders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Reddish's Michael Holbrook got control of the ball when Ian Holyfield tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Reddish was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Gower to maneuver through the defense. Bill Saunders might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Holbrook . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bill Saunders ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Reddish's zone, Ian Holyfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Holbrook came out of the goal and Ian Holyfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andrew McGuigan's late challenge caught a Wibtoft City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrew McGuigan helped the player get up and apologised. Michael Holbrook made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Ian Holyfield sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Spike Holloway to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Wibtoft City got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Barr . 54 minutes into the match, Reddish's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Holyfield came free, but Michael Holbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michael Holbrook made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Burrows in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Andre Green hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willie Malley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Spike Holloway , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76thth minute of the game Bill Saunders who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Reddish's Michael Holbrook was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Wibtoft City's Bill Saunders in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Reddish's goalie prevented a goal. Orson Avery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Willie Malley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Spike Holloway 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willie Malley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Archie Smith hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 93 minutes Wibtoft City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kenneth Campbell who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Kenneth Campbell got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Willie Malley quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Despite being the better team, Wibtoft City failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
