The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Glyn Littlechild stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glyn Littlechild couldn't finish the play. Gerry Roberts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brian Greaves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Glyn Littlechild got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Gerry Roberts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Harold Hill AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
