Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alexander Galway took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Ray Denham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 6th of the match, Jon Venables tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Dylon Acheson got in the way and made a wonderful save. 8 minutes into the match, Castle Donington's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Venables came free, but Dylon Acheson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray Denham who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Dylon Acheson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alexander Galway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Downham having to interfere. When Jon Venables came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Leek FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jon Venables couldn't finish the play. Damien Wild kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Leek FC's Derek Bayne tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ray Denham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Castle Donington's Dylon Acheson got control of the ball when Ray Denham tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Leek FC's Ray Denham got a free kick in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Castle Donington's goalkeeper Dylon Acheson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ray Denham. Leek FC's Jon Venables got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute Jon Venables shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylon Acheson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Ray Denham came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Leek FC fans jumped to their feet. Dylon Acheson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Sutcliffe, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Dylon Acheson came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Leek FC's Vince Sutcliffe. But to his dismay, Vince Sutcliffe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Alexander Galway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marek York's late challenge caught a Leek FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marek York helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Leek FC booed when Castle Donington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marek York didn't get a good kick on the ball.
