Julian Hampton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Routledge, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Trevor Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ray Spacey in the 11th minute of the match. Neal Butt charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Neal Butt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Julian Hampton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Stratton FC booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stuart Renwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Stratton FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after George Routledge fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Julian Hampton made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Crispin Potterton sent off a good shot on target. Crispin Potterton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Hampton having to interfere. George Routledge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julian Hampton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denny Blake stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stratton FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Trevor Pearson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ray Spacey in the 68th minute. The Stratton FC fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Stratton FC's Denny Blake looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 86th minute, Billy Avery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When George Routledge came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Liverpool fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Routledge couldn't finish the play. When Joe Cole fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stratton FC's protests and gave Joe Cole a yellow card for diving instead. Joe Cole hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. George Routledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mark Oldham hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Julian Hampton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Crispin Potterton in the 91st minute of the match. The Liverpool fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Stratton FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
