Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jon Venables took the kick off in the first half of the match. Marek York fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Downham having to interfere. In the 4th match minute, Leek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Sutcliffe to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kris Dawson during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes, Leek FC's Derek Bayne shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dylon Acheson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leek FC reached it. The audience was convinced that Shane Gallacher's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dylon Acheson was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Jon Venables fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dylon Acheson having to interfere. Leek FC's Jon Venables got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leek FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castle Donington the free kick. Jon Venables took the ball and in the 50 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dylon Acheson. Dylon Acheson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The wind increased when Alexander Galway made the kick off in the second half. If Ray Denham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dylon Acheson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Venables in the 60th minute of play. When Castle Donington's Marek York in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leek FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 63 minutes, Vince Sutcliffe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leek FC and the Castle Donington players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vince Sutcliffe kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Gallacher in the 69th minute of play forced Castle Donington's goalkeeper Dylon Acheson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Tod Graydon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keith Downham skillfully saved the ball. Jon Venables fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dylon Acheson having to interfere. Kris Dawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Downham having to interfere. Castle Donington's Dylon Acheson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Castle Donington from getting a goal against them. Dylon Acheson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ray Denham in the 94th minute. After 97 minutes Castle Donington's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Derek Bayne who took care of the corner kick. Derek Bayne made a great header on Leek FC's corner, it was just that Castle Donington's Dylon Acheson managed to reach the ball for a save. Leek FC's Keith Downham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Galway in the 101st minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Leek FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
