After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Barry Bell Burnell managed to get in a good position for a shot. UK United's supporters rose to their feet, but Barry Bell Burnell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurice Stockley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barry Bell Burnell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Stockley having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Barry Monk made a kick off. In the 64th match minute, UK United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Monk to maneuver through the defense. Jon Browning showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vic Theobald, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 73rd match minute, UK United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Rundell to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute Barry Monk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurice Stockley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
