But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Crawshaw couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Bromley getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Zackary McKinney hit a great ball. If Jeff Kay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Donny Wardman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kasey Rush saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jason McWilliams kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Bromley's Jeff Kay got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joey Barr struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. After 62 played minutes, Bromley's Mark Bowden shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kasey Rush came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bromley reached it. Bromley's George Myers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Bromley from getting a goal against them. Joey Barr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Myers having to interfere.
