Spectators: 8478 (Terracing: 6373, Seating: 1954, VIP seats: 151) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Patrick Butcher took the kick off in the first half of the match. Wolverhampton's Carlton Elliott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Wolverhampton from getting a goal against them. Drew Donaldson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sammy Muldoon having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Kelvin Bailey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dromara FC and the Wolverhampton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes Dromara FC got a freekick which was hit by Kelvin Bailey. After 24 played minutes, Dromara FC's Mike Dumpleton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlton Elliott came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dromara FC reached it. The audience was convinced that Jack Fairbank's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sammy Muldoon was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Dromara FC's zone, Jack Fairbank stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sammy Muldoon came out of the goal and Jack Fairbank tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Dromara FC's Jermaine Connery got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, Jack Fairbank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sammy Muldoon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Fairbank, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Steve Sharples fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sammy Muldoon having to interfere. Sammy Muldoon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Fairbank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jack Fairbank came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Wolverhampton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Fairbank couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Fairbank made a kick off. Jack Fairbank's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Sammy Muldoon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Steve Sharples might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sammy Muldoon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Steve Sharples ran back to his position shaking his head. Jack Fairbank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sammy Muldoon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Wolverhampton got a freekick which was hit by Jack Fairbank. With a little luck, Dromara FC's Sammy Muldoon got control of the ball when Steve Sharples tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jack Fairbank recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Drew Donaldson suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Wolverhampton made a substitution. Stu Nicholson replaced Drew Donaldson. After a rather tough play, Dromara FC's Vince Hibbert got a free kick in the 89th minute. Alfred Rider recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dromara FC's Sammy Muldoon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Dromara FC from getting a goal against them. Steve Sharples received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Sammy Muldoon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dromara FC's goalkeeper Sammy Muldoon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wolverhampton played a much better game than Dromara FC and deserved their victory. The Dromara FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
