Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Andy Holt took the kick off in the first half of the match. Andy Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Alec Milburn notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Wolverhampton's Carlton Elliott. Carlton Elliott was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute, Chaz Postolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freddy Wilmott hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After 36 played minutes Wolverhampton got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Wilmott. Carlton Elliott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Holt in the 39th minute. Alec Milburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Carlton Elliott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jack Fairbank stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Wolverhampton got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Rider. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Alistair Ingham managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shrewsbury AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alistair Ingham was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlton Elliott breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute of the match Travis Schofield shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlton Elliott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Andy Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlton Elliott having to interfere. Carlton Elliott showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alec Milburn in the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Shrewsbury AFC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Brian Galway hit a great ball. When Jack Fairbank, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 68 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rodd Delamore was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Alec Milburn came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Shrewsbury AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alec Milburn couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alec Milburn in the 81st minute of play forced Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Carlton Elliott to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alec Milburn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Carlton Elliott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andy Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shrewsbury AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Wolverhampton for a fine match.
