In the 8thth minute of the game Andy Holt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pirroni-cum-Moze United's Ray Henry was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Shrewsbury AFC's Rodd Delamore got control of the ball when Joe McAliskey tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alec Milburn hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. If Alec Milburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pirroni-cum-Moze United's Ray Henry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alec Milburn in the 23rd minute of play. Andy Holt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Rodd Delamore managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Pirroni-cum-Moze United's Joe McAliskey fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 37 minutes into the match, Pirroni-cum-Moze United's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Holt came free, but Ray Henry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alec Milburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 minutes, Chaz Hassell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pirroni-cum-Moze United and the Shrewsbury AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chaz Hassell kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury AFC's Alistair Ingham broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 48th minute Andy Holt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Henry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After a rather tough play, Pirroni-cum-Moze United's Ray Brighton got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Alec Milburn could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Ray Henry however easily saved by the left post. In the 60th minute Shrewsbury AFC were awarded a corner. Alistair Ingham went to the cornerflag to take it. Shrewsbury AFC's Brian Galway was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ray Henry in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Andy Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Ray Brighton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Andy Holt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shrewsbury AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andy Holt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ray Henry breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Joe McAliskey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alec Milburn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ray Henry having to make a save. Alec Milburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Henry having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Andy Holt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ray Henry , passed just outside the right post. Theo Charles struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Rodd Delamore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pirroni-cum-Moze United. 81 minutes into the game, Frankie Impey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shrewsbury AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirroni-cum-Moze United the free kick. A collision led to Shrewsbury AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Frankie Impey hit a great ball. Alec Milburn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ray Henry read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pirroni-cum-Moze United's zone, Andy Holt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ray Henry came out of the goal and Andy Holt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Andy Holt took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Ray Henry to make any attempt to save it. Shrewsbury AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
