Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacob Meehan in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Lewis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, Ilkeston's Jane Trimble sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Lewis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hextable City's goalkeeper Pedro Lewis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerry Fields hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that James Little's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Lewis was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. James Little recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henry Corbridge kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Darren MacDonnell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ilkeston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hextable City the free kick. In the 31st minute, one of Ilkeston:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ilkeston. Pedro Lewis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Little in the 38th minute of play. Pedro Lewis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Meehan, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Meehan in the 42nd minute of play forced Hextable City's goalkeeper Pedro Lewis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Frank Ginn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Ripley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Frank Ginn made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Hextable City booed when Ilkeston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jane Trimble didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute James Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Lewis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grant Braithwaite kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Jacob Meehan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Lewis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 95 minutes into the match, Hextable City's goal looked a bit too open when James Little came free, but Pedro Lewis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Ilkeston's Pedro Lewis threw himself towards the right post 97 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from James Little, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Hextable City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ilkeston were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
