Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. James Little started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Jacob Meehan notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Redditch's Andrew Postolan. Andrew Postolan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Redditch's Andrew Postolan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Meehan in the 18th minute of play. After having played for 21 minutes, James Little managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ilkeston's supporters crossed their fingers, but James Little was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ilkeston's James Little in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Redditch's goalie prevented a goal. Steven Blueman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Aaron Ripley made a huge save. In the 28th minute Redditch were awarded a corner. Johnnie Skipton went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 33rd minute, Frankie Anderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. James Little took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrew Postolan. Andrew Postolan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Bob Theobald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Aaron Ripley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacob Meehan during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jacob Meehan kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Redditch players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ilkeston were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bob Theobald stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Redditch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frankie Anderson to maneuver through the defense. Ilkeston's Jacob Meehan got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacob Meehan struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Andrew Postolan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ilkeston. If James Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Little in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrew Postolan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacob Meehan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roy Reid kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Jacob Meehan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Andrew Postolan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. James Little received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Andrew Postolan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes, Jane Trimble mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ilkeston and the Redditch players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Ilkeston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jane Trimble to maneuver through the defense. Carl Peters hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Redditch's Bob Theobald got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jacob Meehan came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ilkeston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Meehan couldn't finish the play. 0-3 became the score in the 92nd minute when James Little elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 95th minute of the match Roy Reid shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aaron Ripley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aaron Ripley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Theobald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ilkeston's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
