When Bob Theobald came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Redditch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Theobald couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Tatsfield FC's Romeo Donaghy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrew Postolan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Harry Medley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Redditch's Bob Theobald in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Carl Robertson guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Shane Forrester hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Romeo Donaghy came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Tatsfield FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Donaghy couldn't finish the play. When Bruce Westerby fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redditch's protests and gave Bruce Westerby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, Romeo Donaghy fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Bob Theobald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 41 played minutes Tatsfield FC got a freekick which was hit by Marc Poynton. Andrew Postolan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Donaghy in the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Steven Blueman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tatsfield FC's Carl Robertson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Theobald in the 61st minute of play. Carl Robertson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Theobald in the 64th minute of play. Marc Poynton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Andrew Postolan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Westerby got his second yellow card in the match during the 67th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 68th minute, Bruce Westerby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Marc Poynton came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Tatsfield FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Poynton couldn't finish the play. If Frankie Anderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew Postolan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Poynton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Romeo Donaghy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tatsfield FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Redditch the free kick. After 83 played minutes Tatsfield FC got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Donaghy. Tatsfield FC's Romeo Donaghy got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steven Blueman during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Tatsfield FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Redditch had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
