Aaron Ripley came out of the goal and Ciarán Merchant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ilkeston's Jacob Meehan got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sammy Barnes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Little, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jacob Meehan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sammy Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. James Little blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sammy Barnes having to make a save. Jacob Meehan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rochford City's Sammy Barnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Little in the 25th minute of play. Jacob Meehan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Rochford City's goal looked a bit too open when James Little came free, but Sammy Barnes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jacob Meehan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sammy Barnes was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Rochford City's Sammy Barnes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Little in the 37th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Calum Atkins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacob Meehan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calum Atkins hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. James Little struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Sammy Barnes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ilkeston.

51 minutes into the match, Ilkeston's Jacob Meehan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sammy Barnes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacob Meehan took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sammy Barnes. Sammy Barnes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Ilkeston getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Darren MacDonnell hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jason Davis in the 58th minute of play forced Ilkeston's goalkeeper Aaron Ripley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jason Davis took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aaron Ripley. Aaron Ripley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Kay during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ilkeston's Henry Corbridge got a free kick in the 68th minute. Aaron Ripley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciarán Merchant in the 72nd minute of the match. James Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciarán Merchant in the 76th minute of play forced Ilkeston's goalkeeper Aaron Ripley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jane Trimble kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as James Little kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sammy Barnes. That made the score 1-2 in the 79 minute of play. James Little received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Sammy Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If James Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sammy Barnes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from James Little, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Meehan kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 95thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Rochford City's keeper Sammy Barnes was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged.
