The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Nightingale got free with Will Pitts in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 11 minutes, Austen Briant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Droylsden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Austen Briant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, George Hedges managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1967 Kingswood's supporters rose to their feet, but George Hedges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sly Auckland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when George Hedges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Austen Briant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sly Auckland was a little too slow when George Hedges got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 1-3. CJ Bush's late challenge caught a Droylsden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. CJ Bush helped the player get up and apologised. CJ Bush hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, 1967 Kingswood's goal looked a bit too open when Austen Briant came free, but Will Pitts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tristan Hird didn't get a good kick on the ball. The 1967 Kingswood supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing 1967 Kingswood would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
