Spectators: 7598 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1948, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Austen Briant got the match started through his kick off. Redditch's Andrew Postolan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austen Briant in the 10th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Frankie Anderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute Steven Blueman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Auckland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austen Briant in the 23rd minute of play forced Redditch's goalkeeper Andrew Postolan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Nightingale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Andrew Postolan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Droylsden's Sly Auckland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob Theobald in the 30th minute of play. Sly Auckland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bob Theobald's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. If Steven Blueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Redditch's Bob Theobald suffered a concussion in the 35th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 35 minutes, Phil Galway mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Droylsden and the Redditch players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Droylsden fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! In the 37th minute there was a penalty for Redditch. Johnnie Skipton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sly Auckland. 0-1. Sly Auckland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Blueman, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Sly Auckland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Blueman in the 43rd minute of play. Steven Blueman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sly Auckland having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Steven Blueman made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Droylsden's Sly Auckland got control of the ball when Steven Blueman tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Frankie Anderson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Blueman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sly Auckland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sly Auckland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Milton in the 57th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Redditch's Frankie Anderson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sly Auckland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Patrick Bakewell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sly Auckland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steven Blueman in the 63rd minute of the match. Cliff Sissons kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Steven Blueman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sly Auckland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Blueman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sly Auckland having to interfere. Bruce Westerby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 87 played minutes Droylsden got a freekick which was hit by Carl Tate. 91 minutes into the match, Droylsden's goalkeeper Sly Auckland had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Blueman. Steven Blueman scored 0-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sly Auckland, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Droylsden fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Redditch were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
