The tension between the Annscroft City and the Grindelwald Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Annscroft City getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Tommy Goldthorpe hit a great ball. In the 9th minute David Brearley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Boyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rio Rowett got free with Mickey Brontë in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eddie Allison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ben Boyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eddie Allison in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Boyd saved Annscroft City from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Grindelwald Academy's zone, Rio Rowett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mickey Brontë came out of the goal and Rio Rowett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ben Boyd came out of the goal and Ronnie Radcliffe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eddie Allison came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Grindelwald Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Allison couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Grindelwald Academy's Ronnie Radcliffe got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 53 minutes, Eddie Allison made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Annscroft City's Ben Boyd tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Bryan Kaye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ben Boyd read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Ben Boyd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Allison in the 58th minute of play. Eddie Allison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Boyd having to interfere. During the 61st minute of the match Tommy Goldthorpe completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tommy Goldthorpe a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Annscroft City getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Tommy Goldthorpe hit a great ball. Charles Wishart's late challenge caught a Grindelwald Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Wishart helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Annscroft City! In the 74thth minute of the game Eddie Allison who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Annscroft City's Ben Boyd was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ben Boyd didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eddie Allison went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Ben Boyd successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Grindelwald Academy's Ronnie Radcliffe got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Ben Boyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ged Irvine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harry Trotter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eddie Allison got free with Ben Boyd in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Eddie Allison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ben Boyd was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Ged Irvine capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ged Irvine really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Grindelwald Academy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
