Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jack Shipton started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 2 minutes into the game, Jake Garnett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Croston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lincoln United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lincoln United's Billie Brontë got a free kick in the 8th minute. Freddie Lewington was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Martyn Rea's late challenge caught a Croston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martyn Rea helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Lincoln United got a freekick which was hit by Martyn Rea. In the 15th minute, Wes Doughty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 17 minutes, Wes Doughty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lincoln United and the Croston players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Lincoln United got a freekick which was hit by Wes Doughty. Doug Ashworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Barber in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Croston's goalkeeper Jon Bull had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perry Hermon. In the 28th minute of the match Colin Burley sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Doug Ashworth skillfully saved the ball. Perry Hermon in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jon Bull, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Perry Hermon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Jon Bull made a huge save. Perry Hermon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Bull having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Charles Barber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Croston's zone, Benji Beerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Bull came out of the goal and Benji Beerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Benji Beerman made the kick off in the second half. Jon Bull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perry Hermon in the 52nd minute of the match. Perry Hermon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jon Bull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Charles Barber came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Croston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Barber couldn't finish the play. Croston's Jack Shipton got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benji Beerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Bull having to interfere. Calum Rice kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. When Perry Hermon got free in front of the goal in the 75th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jon Bull was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Austin Stonehouse hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Doug Ashworth made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Charles Barber sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Shipton in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doug Ashworth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lincoln United's Doug Ashworth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Lincoln United from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute Benji Beerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Bull saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jon Bull showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perry Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. When Austin Stonehouse fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lincoln United's protests and gave Austin Stonehouse a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Lincoln United getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Austin Stonehouse hit a great ball. Charles Barber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Doug Ashworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
