Spectators: 7950 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bryan Locke kicked off to start the match. Lincoln United's Doug Ashworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryan Locke in the 3rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommy Goldthorpe during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bryan Locke in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Doug Ashworth saved Lincoln United from getting behind. If Bryan Locke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Lincoln United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austin Stonehouse to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the game, Tristan Hughes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lincoln United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annscroft City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lincoln United's Tristan Hughes got a free kick in the 16th minute. Lincoln United's Benji Beerman got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rio Rowett took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doug Ashworth. Doug Ashworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A hard shot 52 in the game by Perry Hermon from a close distance when the talented Ben Boyd managed to make a qualified save. Annscroft City's players were relieved. Bryan Locke might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Doug Ashworth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bryan Locke ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the game, Chip Jones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Annscroft City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lincoln United the free kick. Chip Jones kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Locke in the 73rd minute of play forced Lincoln United's goalkeeper Doug Ashworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Annscroft City getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Matt Neville hit a great ball. Ben Boyd was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Charlie Dobbs. Doug Ashworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Locke, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the game, Bryan Locke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Doug Ashworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Lincoln United's Austin Stonehouse got a free kick in the 86th minute. Bryan Locke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wes Doughty fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lincoln United's protests and gave Wes Doughty a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Annscroft City booed when Lincoln United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wes Doughty didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Bryan Locke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doug Ashworth was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The Annscroft City fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when Annscroft City's Rio Rowett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Annscroft City's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
