Charles Barber took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Banks. Peter Banks dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jake Garnett hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Jerry Emmerson struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jon Bull didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BELFAST FC. Alan Postolan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Croston's Jack Shipton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Banks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jim Alderson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Bull having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Charles Barber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Banks. BELFAST FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Charles Barber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The BELFAST FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Croston were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudi Birken made a kick off. Charles Barber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Banks having to interfere. Jack Shipton received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Peter Banks came out and tried to block the shot, but Jack Shipton slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Dennis Lawton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peter Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Shipton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Lawton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Jon Bull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jake Garnett was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 76 minutes had been played. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over BELFAST FC's much stronger midfield.
