BELFAST FC's Peter Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Bannister in the 11th minute of play. Craig Rhodess short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Peter Banks to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Liam Bannister came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Kimpton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Liam Bannister couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, David Berry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peter Banks acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 21st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jason Pickering. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Liam Bannister managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kimpton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Bannister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Banks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Craig Rhodes in the 26th minute of play. Dennis Lawton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ryan Kennedy having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Craig Rhodes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kimpton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Craig Rhodes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Banks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Peter Banks managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Kimpton AFC's Craig Rhodes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ryan Kennedy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Alderson in the 38th minute of play. Peter Banks made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when David Berry sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute Liam Bannister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Craig Rhodes came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Kimpton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Craig Rhodes couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudi Birken made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Jason Pickering was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kimpton AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BELFAST FC the free kick. The supporters of BELFAST FC booed when Kimpton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jason Pickering didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the BELFAST FC defense, Liam Bannister kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Banks. The BELFAST FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Banks should have stopped the shot. Jason Pickering got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Jason Pickering hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the game, Kimpton AFC's Craig Rhodes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peter Banks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Ryan Kennedy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Lawton in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Craig Rhodes in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Banks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rudi Birken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Kimpton AFC booed when BELFAST FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Postolan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Lawton kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Peter Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Craig Rhodes in the 78th minute of the match. Craig Rhodes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, BELFAST FC's Alan Postolan got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Rudi Birken struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Ryan Kennedy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BELFAST FC. Peter Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Craig Rhodes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind BELFAST FC's goalkeeper Peter Banks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Craig Rhodes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kimpton AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
