Reg Hinchcliffe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derek Digby in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, Hucknall FC's Derek Digby nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reg Hinchcliffe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Colin Evans hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Reg Hinchcliffe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Evans in the 10th minute of play. If Ian Markham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hucknall FC's Derek Digby in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Markham got free with Owen Stead in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Derek Digby in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reg Hinchcliffe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hucknall FC's Owen Stead proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Hucknall FC from getting a goal against them. Colin Evans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Reg Hinchcliffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Derek Digby came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Hucknall FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derek Digby couldn't finish the play. Colin Evans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reg Hinchcliffe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Reg Hinchcliffe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Colin Evans in the 43rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Colin Evans in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reg Hinchcliffe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Colin Evans to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s zone, Colin Evans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reg Hinchcliffe came out of the goal and Colin Evans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ken Lambert fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s protests and gave Ken Lambert a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th match minute, Mhurphys Fury F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ken Lambert to maneuver through the defense. Owen Stead showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Markham, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Derek Digby managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of Mhurphys Fury F.C. booed when Hucknall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Boxall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colin Evans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Reg Hinchcliffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s goalkeeper Reg Hinchcliffe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Colin Evans. Joey Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Reg Hinchcliffe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Mhurphys Fury F.C. from getting a goal against them. Reg Hinchcliffe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colin Evans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, Colin Evans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hucknall FC played a much better game than Mhurphys Fury F.C. and deserved their victory. The Mhurphys Fury F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
