In the 15th minute, Louie Davis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charlie Corby was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mick Milligan. Cambridge Athletic's Charlie Corby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Evans in the 24th minute of play. When Tristan McDowell fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hucknall FC's protests and gave Tristan McDowell a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cambridge Athletic booed when Hucknall FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan McDowell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louie Davis in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Owen Stead prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cambridge Athletic's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Colin Evans scored to the left of an out of position Charlie Corby, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Evans in the 37th minute of play forced Cambridge Athletic's goalkeeper Charlie Corby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cambridge Athletic's Charlie Corby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Cambridge Athletic from getting a goal against them. In the 40th minute, Louie Davis made a precise shot to the right of Owen Stead. Hucknall FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After having played for 52 minutes, Louie Davis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cambridge Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louie Davis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Evans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Owen Stead tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derek Digby in the 57th minute of play forced Cambridge Athletic's goalkeeper Charlie Corby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charlie Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Evans, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Ben Fordham hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. A collision led to Cambridge Athletic getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Kiera Harding hit a great ball. When Marty Boxall came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Hucknall FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marty Boxall couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Cambridge Athletic's Frank Cole got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Cambridge Athletic's Will Hickson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Owen Stead narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
