The supporters of Northwich booed when Mhurphys Fury F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antony Hibbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th match minute, Northwich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Downton to maneuver through the defense. 0-1 became the score in the 8th minute when Louis Carroll elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Northwich's Andre Saxton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louis Carroll in the 11th minute of play. Andre Saxton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Louis Carroll's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Reg Hinchcliffe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Alsford in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Louis Carroll nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andre Saxton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With a little luck, Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Reg Hinchcliffe got control of the ball when Philip Ward tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Louis Carroll came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Mhurphys Fury F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Carroll couldn't finish the play. Andre Saxton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ian Markham went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Freddie Pinder fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s protests and gave Freddie Pinder a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Freddie Pinder got a free kick in the 39th minute. The Northwich players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mhurphys Fury F.C. were winning 0-3.

In the 66th match minute, Northwich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jez Cunningham to maneuver through the defense. Ian Markham might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andre Saxton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Markham ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the match, Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Louis Carroll sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andre Saxton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Spike Lightfoot charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Spike Lightfoot the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th minute, Spike Lightfoot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Northwich defense, Ian Markham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andre Saxton. The Northwich fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andre Saxton should have stopped the shot. When Northwich's Philip Ward in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Philip Ward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, Philip Ward had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reg Hinchcliffe. Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Philip Ward was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. The Mhurphys Fury F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mhurphys Fury F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
