In the 20th minute Johnathan Burley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verne Button saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Luke Thurman put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jasper Trotter. Trey Edison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jasper Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colin Kershaw kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Johnathan Burley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Verne Button read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Johnathan Burley made the kick off in the second half. Feltham AFC's Verne Button proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Feltham AFC from getting a goal against them. When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, Rangers's Pete Baldwin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Verne Button. In the 74th minute, Lenny Gregg made a precise shot to the right of Verne Button. Feltham AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Lenny Gregg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feltham AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Johnathan Burley scored to the left of an out of position Verne Button, making the score, 1-4. Graham Taylor took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jasper Trotter. Rangers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Mitch Sharp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Feltham AFC the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitch Sharp to maneuver through the defense. In the 95thth minute of the game Johnathan Burley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Feltham AFC's Verne Button was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rangers's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
