Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Louie Davis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Louie Davis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jasper Trotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cambridge Athletic's Charlie Corby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Cambridge Athletic from getting a goal against them. Lenny Gregg took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charlie Corby. Charlie Corby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Louie Davis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jasper Trotter. Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Louie Davis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Charlie Corby made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Lenny Gregg sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the match, Cambridge Athletic's goalkeeper Charlie Corby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mitch Sharp. Charlie Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Kershaw, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Will Hickson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, Mitch Sharp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cambridge Athletic the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitch Sharp to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Mitch Sharp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charlie Corby. Charlie Corby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mitch Sharp in the 39th minute of the match. Charlie Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Colin Kershaw, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When Ollie Jones fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cambridge Athletic's protests and gave Ollie Jones a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rangers getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Austen Ackroyd hit a great ball. When Pete Baldwin fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rangers's protests and gave Pete Baldwin a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rangers! The referee gave Cambridge Athletic a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Greg Ottaway, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rangers's Jasper Trotter. 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johnathan Burley made a kick off. Charlie Corby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan Burley in the 54th minute of play. Charlie Corby came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Rangers's Lenny Gregg. But to his dismay, Lenny Gregg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 60th minute, Pete Baldwin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Louie Davis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Trotter having to interfere. Lenny Gregg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Corby having to interfere. Colin Best sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lenny Gregg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jasper Trotter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Louie Davis's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Colin Kershaw charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Colin Kershaw the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Colin Kershaw kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Rangers's Jasper Trotter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Rangers from getting a goal against them. After 90 played minutes Cambridge Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Ben Fordham. Colin Kershaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Colin Kershaw got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 98th minute, one of Rangers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rangers. The Cambridge Athletic supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cambridge Athletic would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
