With a little luck, Workington's Don Griffiths got control of the ball when Andrew Wild tried to sneak it across the goal line. Don Griffiths made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenneth E. Sullivan in the 37th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Workington's goalkeeper Don Griffiths had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrew Wild. Don Griffiths showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth E. Sullivan, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jim Bannister stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
