The corner led Intrusive Thoughts's Willie Adams to fire away a dangerous shot which Luis Charro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Owen Hopker made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Barney Hook sent off a good shot on target. 18 minutes into the match, Dartford's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Duke came free, but Luis Charro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker got control of the ball when Barney Hook tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Intrusive Thoughts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrew Wild to maneuver through the defense. Steven Boothroyd who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Owen Hopker when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 26 played minutes Intrusive Thoughts got a freekick which was hit by Ronnie Bolton. 29 minutes into the game, Norman Bayliff was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dartford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Intrusive Thoughts the free kick. Norman Bayliff kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Barney Hook got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker got control of the ball when Barney Hook tried to sneak it across the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Barney Hook notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Intrusive Thoughts's Owen Hopker. Owen Hopker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 46th minute, Steven Boothroyd made a precise shot to the right of Owen Hopker. Intrusive Thoughts's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Barney Hook in the 56th minute of play forced Intrusive Thoughts's goalkeeper Owen Hopker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Norman Bayliff was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 57 minutes had been played. A collision led to Dartford getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Norman Bayliff hit a great ball. Owen Hopker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Fieldwick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes Intrusive Thoughts got a freekick which was hit by Stu Sherman. Barney Hook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Willie Adams kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Barney Hook was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Andrew Wild struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Luis Charro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Intrusive Thoughts. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Dartford fully deserved thier win.
