Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Carlton Inman made the kick off which started today's match. Jim Tipton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Don Griffiths made a huge save. Keith Perkins kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Chris Johnson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Don Griffiths was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Jim Tipton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belfast Celtic FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Tipton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Don Griffiths breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 23 played minutes Workington got a freekick which was hit by Michael Gerrard. With a little luck, Workington's Don Griffiths got control of the ball when Jim Tipton tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Workington's goalkeeper Don Griffiths, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, Chris Johnson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Workington's Don Griffiths. Don Griffiths was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Workington's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Chris Johnson scored to the left of an out of position Don Griffiths, making the score, 3-0. After some careless play in the Workington defense, Jim Tipton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Don Griffiths. The Workington fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Don Griffiths should have stopped the shot. If Chris Johnson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Derek Lyons hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 60th minute, Jim Tipton made a precise shot to the right of Don Griffiths. Workington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Derek Lyons put in a rough tackle. Keith Perkins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Don Griffiths tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Sawbridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley Topham in the 82nd minute of play. Lance Kennedy charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lance Kennedy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lance Kennedy kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. With a little luck, Belfast Celtic FC's Marc Sawbridge got control of the ball when Carlton Inman tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Belfast Celtic FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
