Spectators: 9221 (Terracing: 6917, Seating: 2121, VIP seats: 183) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Reg Blackley got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Pat Kay left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Roma AS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Edgard Aires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Neil Darnbrooke got free with Marc Donaldson in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Lewisham's Ozzy Wooding got a free kick in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Roma AS's goal looked a bit too open when Owen Whittaker came free, but Andrew Simmons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Roma AS getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Pat Kay hit a great ball. Pat Kay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marc Donaldson made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Pat Kay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma AS's supporters rose to their feet, but Pat Kay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Donaldson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Key charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Key the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Lewisham's zone, Reg Blackley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Donaldson came out of the goal and Reg Blackley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgard Aires scored 2-0 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marc Donaldson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Roma AS booed when Lewisham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Key didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Roma AS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lewisham:s goal. After 45 minutes, Pat Kay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Roma AS and the Lewisham players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pat Kay hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geoff Rogers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Pat Kay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andrew Simmons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owen Whittaker in the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Lewisham's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Blackley came free, but Marc Donaldson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geoff Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Andrew Simmons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Lewisham's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Aires came free, but Marc Donaldson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Donaldson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pat Kay, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Marc Donaldson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reg Blackley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Donaldson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Aires in the 78th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Roma AS's goal looked a bit too open when Owen Whittaker came free, but Andrew Simmons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pat Kay got free in front of the goal in the 83rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Marc Donaldson was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Pat Kay took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marc Donaldson. Marc Donaldson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Edgard Aires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute Pat Kay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Donaldson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geoff Rogers got free with Andrew Simmons in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee ended the match the Roma AS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
