Workington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. If Mihail Micescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. Andrew Simmons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierce Porter, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. With his leg Don Griffiths managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Roma AS's Mihail Micescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee showed Han Chang Yue the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Workington booed when Roma AS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Han Chang Yue didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Carlton Inman made the kick off in the second half. Roma AS's Andrew Simmons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Topham in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Roma AS's Neil Darnbrooke got a free kick in the 77th minute. Don Griffiths made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Fuller in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute Edgard Aires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Don Griffiths saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Workington's Don Griffiths played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Aires in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute Mihail Micescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Don Griffiths saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
